Description
Dear Support,
I have purchased VirtualBox (see details below) for a Linux host and am trying to get it working with a Windows 7 guest (also purchased).
Everything is "working" (with the exception of sound) however I'm experiencing a problem that basically makes the guest completely unusable.
The Windows 7 guest "freezes" or "pauses" for a few minutes at a time, for no apparent reason, fairly frequently (about every minute).
I do not see any system activity occurring on the host during these pauses. It's as if it's simply "stuck" waiting for a timeout to occur.
Here are the details of my host system:
Arch : IA-32 BIOS : 080012 Brand : Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 290 Busses : IDE ATA SATA PATA PCI USB CPUs : 2 dual-core (4 virtual) at 2.80GHz
Kernel : 2.6.31.6-166.fc12.i686
Make : Supermicro Memory : 2.2 GB Model : H8DCE Release : Fedora release 12 (Constantine) Swap : 4.0 GB Video : nVidia Corporation G70 [GeForce 7800 GTX]
Note that I also tried installing all this on my wife's laptop -- and everything works perfectly (even sound after I installed the RealTek driver).
She's running the exact same version of FC12 (with the exact same kernel) so I know this is somehow related to how VirtualBox runs on my hardware.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or can help me in any way to work around this issue.
Thank you very much in advance, Jason
