Description
Since many years it has been "difficulty" to use my 4-Monitor system with VirtualBox. I have two 1920x1080 down (left and right), and two 1680x1050 up (left and right).
My Host is Win7/64 (without Internet access), and my Guest is openSuse Tumbleweed. The Guest has the four Monitors defined. The Guest-Additions are from openSuse, actual Version.
In Virtualbox 6.X was the Problem with arrangement, while using the recommended "VMSVGA": If I arrange the monitors, to their correct position in the Guest, then its not more possible to work with the system because the mouse is at complete other Positions and act like a wrong gear ration. In 6.x, I could use the VBoxSVGA to work it correct. Not easy, after some Update, but at the end, I got it worked.
Now, since 7.x the use of VBoxSVGA results in an not starting system. So I have to use VMSVGA, and now it is impossible zu change the arrangement in the Guest. If I arrange the Monitors and press [OK], then the arrangement falls automatically back to "all Monitors in one line", like default.
Another Test with Ubuntu as Guest, Guest-Additions from VirtualBox and only two Monitors (lower left and right): By default, the Monitors are wrong. So I changed left with right in the Ubuntu-Guest. Now the Display is correct, but I only can use the Keyboard, because the Mouse acts at the other Monitor, e.g: I click and hold the left Button at the Background while the Mouse-Cursor is in one Monitor, and drag, then the rectangle is seen at the other Monitor.
If more tests or some log- or config-file helps, please tell me.
