Description

My Windows 10 VM machine crashes, spontaneously now that I am running Virtualbox on macOS Monterey. I am using Vbox 6.1.32 r149290. I am attaching a crash report and a Virtualbox log. I can't seem to be able to reproduce it exactly; the crashes just occur spontaneously, sometimes at login, other times it will run for over an hour then crash.

Summary: Windows 10 VM guest crashes sporadically on macOS MontereyWindows 10 VM guest crashes sporadically on macOS Monterey => duplicate of #19153

Based on the crash report it looks like this ticket is a duplicate of #19153. As a workaround until a fix is available you can disable the "keyboard indicator synchronization" feature as described here:

https://docs.oracle.com/en/virtualization/virtualbox/6.1/admin/AdvancedTopics.html#hidledssync

using the following command:

VBoxManage setextradata VM-name GUI/HidLedsSync 0

Could you please add a comment to #19153 regarding what keyboard devices are attached to the host when this issue occurred? Were you running any kind of remote desktop software when it happened?

Closing this ticket as a duplicate of #19153.
