Component: | VM control | Version: | VirtualBox 6.1.16 |
Keywords: | Cc: | ||
Guest type: | all | Host type: | Linux |
Description
When removing a VM from the command line, Virtualbox often crashes with a critical error when *other* VMs are running. The dialog says for those running (one for each window): "A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution should be stopped. [...] Press OK to power off the machine."
The command executed is $ vboxmanage unregistervm "${childvm}" --delete where the variable "childvm" is a valid name of a VM.

During the crash "Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager" always says data is unavailable. Sometimes the manager refreshes the data itself, other times you need to restart the manager.
