Virtual box crashes MacOS

Description
I change the default video memory from 16mb to 24mb and during VM boot my macbook pro crashes. The fan made some noise and the computer shuts down. This happens with CentOS and Ubuntu.

I attached a log for a Kali VM. I set the video memory to 36MB and the install crash (shuts down the mac computer). I then change video memory to 16MB and the install was good.

You need to include the crash report, as asked by 'aeichner'. Also, can you post the output of the command:
kextstat | grep -v com.apple

I also found that it would crash the mac if I enable split screen on my LG 4K monitor.

Please try with the latest release where we fixed some crashes. Please reopen if still relevant and attach a new VBox.log and Apple crash reports for further investigation.
We need at least a VBox.log of the VM causing the crash and OS X should provide a crash report for the host side crash which is required in order to investigate the issue.
