#17407 closed defect (duplicate)

Window and guest display area do not match

Reported by: pzrq Owned by:
Component: 3D support Version: VirtualBox 5.2.4
Keywords: display area Cc:
Guest type: all Host type: all

Description

As identified in the forums (see below), if one drags a Guest VM window with 3D acceleration enabled#, then the host and guest area become decoupled from each other.

This affects both macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 hosts, and according to @Freefall also affects Windows hosts.

Log files and screenshots should be attached to this ticket shortly.

# In practice, I have found that enabling 3D acceleration is a requirement for working productively on Ubuntu guest VMs, it is disappointing it is not the VirtualBox default and needs to be manually configured, but that is a separate issue which is not quite annoying enough to me to figure out how I talk to the VirtualBox product manager about why it's not the default ;)
