VBoxSVC continues to run after closing Virtualbox manager / wakes host PC

Description
This is how to replicate (on W10 pro v1607): Start Virtualbox manager start a vm put host to sleep host will wake up , in the system event logs it will show that the system has returned from a lowpower state & that the Wake Source is "Timer - VBoxSVC.exe" if you close the virtualbox manager then the VirtualBox interface service (VBoxSVC) continues to run further causing the issue and also causing issues if you shutdown or restart the host (errormessage about active connections)

Exactly but not all the time; I still haven't got a firm grip on as when things happen. If however VBoxsvc is -still- running when you put the host into sleep mode then the host will wake up again triggered by VBoxSVC. The only solution is then to kill the process & put the host in sleep mode again but most of the time when I put my host into sleep mode I leave office & consider it to remain sleeping...
What you actually say is that VBoxSVC doesn't terminate itself after all clients (all VMs and the VirtualBox GUI) terminated. Is that true? VBoxSVC is supposed to automatically terminate ~10 seconds after the last client terminated. Could you check the task manager if VBoxSVC is still running and if it terminates after a few seconds or perhaps after a longer time?
