Guru Meditation 1155 (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT) trying to install 64 bit Linux as guest, Arch Linux host

I'm running Virtual Box 4.3.16 on an Arch Linux host (Intel Xeon CPU, VT-x activated). When I try to install a 64 bit Linux as guest system (i.e. Debian or Arch Linux) vBox crashes with "Guru Meditation Error 1155 (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT)" while loading the guest's Linux Kernel. 32 Bit guest-OS work fine.

I tried different settings for the VM in Virtual Box (CPUs, RAM etc.), also turned off VT-x and Nested Paging with no success.

Having identical issue, heard elsewhere it may be related to older xeons. Here are the flags for the ones I'm currently using:

Yes, we are able to reproduce this problem. Happens only on older Xeon models as well as on Pentium D models.
