USB crash WXP guest during scan preview Canon Lide210, crash W7 guest when disconnecting Galaxy S3 => fixed in SVN

Description

I upgraded 5 days ago from 4.3.14 to 4.3.16, and experienced two issues. 1) With 4.3.14 and Windows 7 guest the VM would abort after disconnecting my Galaxy S3; the USB pass through worked fine up to the point when I disconnected. 2) With 4.3.16 and Windows XP guest the VM would abort when trying to scan a document with my Canon Lide 210, during the time the Canon is trying to get a Preview of the document. In case 1) The issue remains in 4.3.16. In case 2) the problem went away by rolling back to 4.3.14. The host system is Ubuntu 12.04 AMD64, kernel 3.2.0-68-generic. Attached are the vbox.log files, and let me know who to send the Core Dumps.

Summary: USB crash WXP guest during scan preview Canon Lide210, crash W7 guest when disconnecting Galaxy S3USB crash WXP guest during scan preview Canon Lide210, crash W7 guest when disconnecting Galaxy S3 => fixed in SVN

The issue should be fixed in the next maintenance release. It happens only with older kernels. In case you want to test the fix I uploaded a test build to: https://www.virtualbox.org/download/testcase/VirtualBox-4.3.17-96390-Linux_amd64.run This is only the generic run package, you have to remove virtualbox (not your VMs) before installing this one.

The test build 4.3.17-96390 fixes the two issues reported in this bug. Thanks a lot. I used the Extensions Pack for 4.3.16, because I did not have the 4.3.17 yet. Let me know if I need the 4.3.17 Extensions Pack or can keep using what I am using, while the new 4.3.18(?) comes.

Thanks for the confirmation. You can use the released extension pack with this build until the next version is released.
