Description
Every time I do a reboot of my Windows 8.1 guest after a Windows Update the guest freezes in the "rebooting" screen. This is 100% reproduceable after a Windows Update, even if just Office or Visual Studio updates were installed. But it is NOT reproduceable if I do a standard reboot or shutdown. A Windows 7 SP1 guest also does NOT freeze during the reboot after a Windows Update.
VirtualBox 4.3.2 with Extension Pack, Guest Additions 4.3.2
Host: Windows 7 SP1 x64
Guest: Windows 8.1 x64
CPU: Core i5-2500K, all 4 cores assigned to guest
RAM 16 GB on host, 6 GB assigned to guest
VT-x/AMD-V and Nested Paging active
2 Screens configured for guest, but only 1 currently active in guest Windows
No 2D or 3D acceleration

Have you enabled 2D/3D acceleration support for the virtual machine? In my case unchecking those boxes solved the problem.

No, 2D or 3D acceleration were never enabled for this machine. Not during installation and also not afterwards.

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.3.20. In that case, please add another VBox.log file to this ticket.
With VirtualBox 4.3.8 I could reboot after two Windows updates without the freeze, but then the reboot after the Office 2013 SP1 installation (from standalone installer) caused the freeze again. I've attached a new log.
