Description
IBM JVM 1.4.2 does not work under a Linux guest.
For example, if "java -version" is called, the java process will start eating memory until linux kill it after some minutes running without answer. The same does not happen on a CentOS 4.4 under Xen ou under VMWare Player. To make sure it was not a CentOS specific problem I tried the same IBM JVM under a Ubuntu 7.04 guest but the problem was the same.
IBM JVM is available at http://www.ibm.com/java

I just realize that this ticket title is wrong! I tought it was a CentOS/VirtualBox specific problem until I tried it on an Ubuntu guest with the same error... Can someone please change the Ticket subject to "IBM JVM 1.4.2 does not work on Linux guests"? Thanks!

I just did several tests, including running Tivoli Directory Integrator and IBM WebSphere Application Server, both java applications, and they worked fine, including their installations.
Thanks! Guilherme
