Description
Guest OS: Scientific Linux, only running Oracle XE 11gR2 Host OS: Ubuntu 13.04
I've imported a previous .ova file that contains the Oracle XE 11gR2 database running on scientific linux. When using scientific linux (only running Oracle XE 11gR2 or when running Oracle standard 11gR2), after an arbitrary amount of time (sometimes within seconds of start up, sometimes 2-4 hours later), the guest OS freezes (no GUI, no SSH, no DB connections). I have to kill the process and restart to get it to run.
There are no issues with running Windows XP.
Host is running with 2 CPUs and 64 GB of RAM. I have tried running the Guest with as little as 512 MB RAM and up to 4 GB RAM, and running with 1 CPU or 2 CPUs.

I have upped the total RAM to 8 GB, with no luck. It has froze at 2 min, 8 min and 23 min today. Running a test with the Windows XP OS.
These ova files are also used by others running on Ubuntu 12.04, so it might be related to running virtualbox on Ubuntu 13.04?

Please check if the same happens if you use the VBox 4.2.12 .run package from this website. In that case, I would be interested to see a core dump of the hanging VM.

I've been using 4.2.12 after, and it's still having issues.

Thanks for the core dump. One strange thing is that there are only 3 threads for executing a guest CPU while your VM was configured for 4 guest CPUs. When this happens, do you see any crash messages in the host syslog? My assumption is that one EM thread holding locks crashes and therefore the other threads cannot get hold of the lock anymore.

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.3.2.
Freezes in virtualbox-4.2.12 as well. Just downloaded the latest virtualbox from the site.
