Windows 7 x64 host Ubuntu 12.04 guest Virtualbox & guest additions 4.2.0 r80737
/var/log/vboxadd-install-x11.log says (1 liner) "install_x11_startup_app: no script given"

Wild guess: Is your guest hard disk full? If not, could you manually execute VBoxLinuxAdditions and post the complete output?
