Downloading VirtualBox
Here, you will find links to VirtualBox binaries and its source code.
For a detailed explanation about the differences between VirtualBox and VirtualBox OSE, please take a look at the Editions page.
User manual
The VirtualBox User Manual is included in the VirtualBox release below. If, however, you would like to take a look at it without having to install the whole thing, you can download it here:
- User Manual (current development snapshot, updated 2007-02-01)
VirtualBox binaries
The VirtualBox binaries are available free of charge for personal and evaluation use. By downloading from the below links, you agree to the terms and conditions set forth by the VirtualBox Personal Use and Evaluation License (PUEL).
- VirtualBox 1.3.2 for Linux Hosts:
You will need to install some additional libraries on your Linux system in order to run VirtualBox - in particular, you will need libxalan-c, libxeres-c and version 5 of libstdc++. How to install these will depend on the Linux distribution you are using.
Older versions of VirtualBox can be found on this separate page.
- Note: Even though we provide BitTorrents to allow for easier downloads, we do not currently otherwise permit redistribution of the VirtualBox binaries above. See the Licensing FAQ for details. This restriction does not, of course, apply to the Open Source Edition (OSE) below.
VirtualBox Open Source Edition (OSE)
The VirtualBox OSE binaries and sources are available free of charge under the terms and conditions of the GNU General Public License, Version 2. By downloading from the below links, you agree to these terms and conditions.
- Checking out from our Subversion server.
svn co http://virtualbox.org/svn/vbox/trunk vbox
After checking out, you should have a look at the build instructions.
