It seems there was a regression for this on the latest upgrade (4.2.18 r88780)
There is a workaround for this:
- Go to VirtualBox network adapter properties under Windows' control panel, select "TCP/IPv4" and go to its properties
- Check the options to obtain the addresses automatically
- Go to VirtualBox > File > Preferences > Network and reconfigure the adapter again
It should fix the issue and keep the settings.

This issue is still in place after installing 4.1.18r78361
It is frustrating as I need to have a specific IP address on the host only adapter so that the proxy workaround (so that the wpat.dat file can be used) I have in place for normal web browsing works.
