Guest loses internet after around 2 hours

Description
After around 2 hours (sometimes less than 2 hours, sometimes more, it seems to vary), my Windows 10 guest will lose internet access. At the same time the internet works fine on the Windows 10 host, so it's not an internet or ISP connectvity issue.
This started with v7.1.0 and continues to happen v7.1.2.
Although I have attached a log file, further log files from v7.1.0 can be found in my thread here: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?p=550937

This is really a copy and paste from my post in the forum:
I've noticed something odd happens, which also happened with v7.1.0 but I dismissed it as a fluke. When I load Firefox in the VM, no websites can be found. I haven't tried Edge yet, but I will the next time it happens. My monitor reports that the three test sites are unreachable, so I doubt Edge would work anyway. The weird thing is that the torrents appears to be working, perhaps just slower though. I'm wondering if this is a DNS issue of some sort? But the host's internet is fine at the same time that the guest's internet appears to be down.

I'd appreciate any suggestions of free software that could do this.

I saw you use some watchdog software on your guest to monitor your connection. The time of the total lost of connection differs, as you already wrote. I think, that the time depends on the amount of transferred data.
It would be interesting if you could log the uploaded and downloaded volume per second till the complete lost of the connection. I don't know if this software you are using can do the logging for some time. Something like the information we see in the session information window, but for a bigger timespan.
Another test improvement idea: if you use torrents to test, the speed of download and upload isn't constant, it could vary from one second to another. So if you start some endless internet test with constant traffic volume, I think that the connection will be lost after nearly the same time. And not after different time like it happens now.

A quick search gave me these results: there is a command-line script that simply writes the values to the CSV file. Or there is software called bitmeteros (there is a second version required .NET) which monitors and logs the bandwidth.

Just a small update with something I have observed. Internet access appears to stop once the guest has uploaded ~16GB of data. However the torrent client running in the guest appears to be able to continue uploading for some time before it too is unable to access the internet.

Having become bored of feeling that my problem is either being ignored or not being acknowledged, I have installed the latest version of v7.0.22 (165102). As a result I can now happily report that I no longer experience the problem of the guest's internet access being lost after ~2 hours, as it did in v7.1.x.
If and when somebody asks me to do some testing with 7.1.x I shall do so, but right now I don't see what it offers me so I will stick with v7.0.x for the time being. It simply works.
This ticket will continue to remain open, even if it does seem somewhat derelict of any of acknowledgement of the bug by Oracle.

Thank you for the heads up. I have tried the current beta and extension pack, v7.1.x r165591.
This version does seem to help slightly, because the connection lasts longer - but it still stops works after some time. Only now, it stops at around ~4 hours, which I suppose is better than ~2 hours.
I have attached the latest logs.

Try the new beta, it worked for me.

Could this somehow be DNS related? Monkinsane has posted a thread on the forums stating a similar problem to what I am experiencing, although they have mentioned that their DNS is somehow 'breaking' after a while.

I also wish to confirm that I am still experiencing this problem, even after updating VirtualBox v7.1.x to the latest test build 165995.

Just to update that since updating to test build 166721, the issue remains but it seems to have improved. Instead of losing internet after around 2 hours, I lose internet after around 4 hours now.
I have noticed that with the recent test builds, my guest machines can never download at the maximum download speed that my host can. The download speed seems to max out at around 20MB/sec, whereas my host can easily attain the full speed provided by my ISP, which is more than double 20MB/sec.
The CPU usage of the guest seems to spike quite high when uploading or downloading - more-so when downloading, particularly when maxed out (at 20MB/sec).
I have attached logs in a ZIP file. If anybody can suggest how else I can draw the required attention from the powers that be, so they fix this issue, I'm all ears. Otherwise it just feels as though I'm talking to a brick wall with a few others right now.

I have the exact same issue but on Windows 11. (I also had this on my old Windows 10 Notebook, so it is not related to Windows 11 or 24H2) In my case, the NAT network breaks after ~8h.
Not only DNS breaks, but the entire NAT network. When this happens, I have to power off the VM and power on it again. A reboot does not resolve the issue.
I have posted my log from yesterday where the error happens, hope this helps. https://gist.github.com/nook24/8965d4c0a201c70ccb38c7b54b91afb5
I use NAT that the VM can access the internet and gets access to the company VPN. At least the VPN does not work with "NAT-Network". I'm not sure where the difference between those two is in the first place.
Host OS: Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.2605) Guest OS: Ubuntu 22.04.5 VirtualBox Version: Version 7.1.4 r165100 (Qt6.5.3) No Extension Pack
I also posted in the VirtualBox forum, but so far no response: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=113021

Hi,
NAT Networking Stopped Working Completely After WindowsUpdate the 03 February 2025
Posted in https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=113021
System
Host Windows11Pro From 02 January 2025 - Previously Windows10Pro
VBox 7.0.14 From 2023
Guest WindowsServer2022 from May 2024
NB : No problem under Windows11 From January untill the last Update 2 days ago.
Update : Windows11-24H2 & Security-KB5050094
Hypothesis:
The culprit in my case could be Security-Update KB5050094
NB : Ill try in next few day to remove again KB5050094 and post here logs from VBoxManager
Regards
