Description
Reproduce:
- Start VM
- Menu -> hover Optical media
- an last used optical media exists which is on an inaccessible/office n etworkstorage
- the vm freezes and crashes after some seconds
- if you leave vboxmanager open, a second try works,
- if you close it, its crashing again
The bug exists at least since v5.0
Its very annoying to me, I'm using a NAS-Box which shutdowns over night till i manually start it, when i start a vm beforce that and hover the menu by accident -> crash
e.g. ISO image on \NAS542\image\Win10.iso

When I render iso files (by deleting or moving) they disappear from the "recently used" optical media list. Do you mind mentioning your host/guest OSs?

I don't think I've seen this ever mentioned here or in the VirtualBox forums (where you should have posted your message first). I have several VMs that use an external ISO, located in a USB HD.
- If I launch VirtualBox and the USB HD is not there, it shows as inaccessible. Logico...
- If I remove the USB HD, it still shows in the Manager (logico), but it definitely doesn't crash when hovering over it.

Sorry, I posted the problem now here: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=91249
